Finally got my first pair of weightlifting shoes. I’ve heard people rave about how much a difference specialized shoes make, especially for squat depth.
Front Squats definitely feel easier in these shoes than in my old Converse Chuck Taylors.
These are from Rogue Fitness in Ohio. They’re basically re-branded Do-Win shoes.

After two workouts with these, I’m still getting used to the heel height. The wooden heel is pretty funny — it sort of feels like wearing clogs or something. Since I’m a total klutz most of the time (I walk into corners and bang toes into furniture on a regular basis), I’ve already banged my toes with the wooden heel a few times — lemme tell ya, THAT will make sure you’re awake and alert, if you weren’t before — a very good thing for lifting.

While lifting feels more stable (the important part), walking around in them feels awkward still. I’m so used to soft squishy shoe soles from Vans or New Balance sneakers.
